ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.2
Determine a central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.
The Plan:
- Read
- Write your summary - documents can be found on Google Classroom
Summary and Reflection (Directions)
Most of the info is on Google Classroom, but here are some pointers:
- Put my name AND your science teacher's name in the header
- Ms. Black and Mrs. ___
- Summary (Paragraph 1)
- summaries do not need evidence. You probably don't need to use quotes from the text. Summarize means you have to share what the article is about in your own words.
- should NOT have the word "I" ANYWHERE
- Make sure you put the author's last name in parentheses at the end of the paragraph. If you do not know the author, put the title in quotation marks
- Reflection (Paragraph 2)
- SHOULD have the word "I" all over it
Reminders/Homework:
- Your Einstein Jr. Writing Task is due Friday. You must print it out and staple it to the top of your chosen article(s). You must show up to class with this document. Printed. On time.
- We're going to use them to revise. It's important that you have it.
- Achieve Due Friday by Midnight
- Student Choice
- Teacher Choice: New World, Old Writing
