Socratic Seminar Preparation

On Friday, we will be having a Socratic seminar on Homeless Bird before we write our argument essays about theme. It's been a while, so our hope is to remember all of the things that happened so that we feel more comfortable going into the writing task.

Your goal today is to finish it. I'm collecting it tomorrow.

Talk to each other! Support each other! Find juicy quotes you forgot about! 

If finished with your Socratic Prep, here's a challenge:

Our goal next week is to choose one THEME to write about from the story.

• Watch this video
• Turn your Socratic Seminar Preparation guide over and do the following on the back:
• 1. Share one book or movie that you love and see if you can determine one possible theme of that story. Write what you think the theme is and WHY.
• 2. Brainstorm possible themes for Homeless Bird. Seriously, write two or three different ideas that you might have, and see if you can explain why.
• This is not an easy task. Try it out!

When you've finished all that, you can work on Achieve or read or something else if you ask and I give you permission.

Reminders/Homework:

• Finish the three questions on your Socratic doc. I'm collecting it tomorrow.
• Get Einstein Jr. Writing turned in like 3 days ago. (ASAP)
